Karen Kennedy is a certified nutritionist, having received her masters degree in clinical nutrition from Bastyr University in 2001. Prior to this, she studied biochemistry and immunology and worked in cancer research for 10 years. Then made a big career move and trained as a yoga teacher, then in nutrition.
Since then, she has enjoyed working with people individually and loves teaching nutrition and cooking classes. She is currently working towards a credential as a certified Integrative and Functional Nutritional Professional, to give her more tools to help her clients.
Karen doesn’t promote any specific nutritional philosophy other than a whole foods approach to whatever works for the individual.
“I really love empowering people with the information they need to be healthier. Especially when people stop fighting their biology and start learning how to nourish themselves…. That’s why I love my job.”
When she isn’t working, she still spends an awful amount of time around food. She loves to cook and garden. But she also likes to do yoga, hike, ski and go to the beach whenever she can.
Karen is in private practice and you can make appointments with her by contacting her directly. Please see her website for more details or just call for a free 15 minute consultation to see if she’s a good fit for you.
